Referral to Professor Claire Harrison

Hi. I was wondering how quickly I might receive an appointment with Professor Claire Harrison after a referral from my haematologist.

Hi Suke, I think I waited between three and four months from the referral letter being sent by my doctor and my first appointment, though I got the appointment date letter after about six weeks if I remember. The letter did say that the waiting time is triaged based on the individual’s case so your mileage may vary.

As I recall I got seen pretty quickly. Probably within a matter of weeks from referral. But that was five years ago and my sense is that Prof Harrison’s clinics and patient load is getting ever heavier. It’s worth the wait though! Good luck.

I was amazed how quickly my referral came through, maybe 6-8 weeks and so valuable, even though I am blessed with a very good haematologist and department.
