Hello, I wanted to see if anyone that has polycythemia vera had problems with hives and actual rash. I have little pimples something forming in groups of three . All doctor said it was not scabies and one doctor said it was scabies gave me enough medicine to kill scabies over and over . It has not gone away . Dermatologist now saying it is not scabies . From the beginning I asked my hematologist and an MPN specialist if this could be related to polycythemia vera. The itching can be intense and sometimes can get infected . It also feels like crawling in the skin . Now the dermatologist and the allergist are suggesting Xolair shots . I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this and what has helped ? Thank you.

Hives and rash
Hello, I get hives and itching. I have been admitted into hospital 3 times since July. I now have an Epipen, I take fexofenadine and antihistamines. I have ET and only on Clopidogrel. I was originally on aspirin and Pegasy, but they thought it might be those that caused hives. I am under dermatology and now seeing immunology in December. I do feel for you with the itching and hives

Funny enough I developed a rash which was intensely itchy and uncomfortable, I wasn't sure what it was until I visited the doctor and she said straight away I had shingles- never had anything like this before- I have ET/PV and take hydroxycarbamide 14 weekly. Best wishes
