Hi linphy,

I have taken clopidogrel instead of aspirin for the last 6 years after a major stomach bleed put me in hospital for 6 days. I've had no problems with them. Are you having problems?

Best wishes

Judy

Hi Judy, yes I've had plenty of problems since July. I was injecting with Pegasy, I Was taken off that in July as I came out in hives swelling of face. Was rushed into hospital a few occasions. Gp has prescribed epipen, fexofenadine 4 a day. Also taken off aspirin. Consultant said hives were nothing to do with Pegasy. I've seen dermatology they told me I have vasculities, that my autoimmune is unbalanced. I have appointment to see immunology but not till December. Consultant said Clopidogrel would be best for me. I still have hives but not so bad. Linda

Yes, I take it with no problems. Cant take Asprin and had a heart attack 1 year ago so needed a blood thinner. Was initially put on another blood thinner who's name escapes me ( dreaded brain fog ) but I was getting massive bruises. Still get them but not to the same extent.

Hey Linda, pain in my feet is unbearable sometimes, but had that before Clopidogrel, nut sure if its related to MPD or my being Diabetic, no-one can tell me for sure. Think myself its down to the MPD s had painful hot pins and needles for many a year and only diagnosed Diabetic last year.

Best wished

Hi, I have been taking clopidogrel since March this year after a mini stroke. I haven't had any problems with it apart from I like others bruise a little easier than I normally would.

Hi after a colonoscopy I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. My first thought was that maybe taking aspirin every day for so many years now had something to do with it. I talked to my haematologist and he said I could reduce it to 3 times weekly. Anybody has a similar condition? I have ET JAK2+ and only taking aspirin.

Thank you Kelly2, I too have diverticulitis, was diagnosed 8 years ago. I don't often have a flare up of it thank goodness. I too am ET JAK2.

Are you also on aspirin?

No taken off aspirin, I had hives and swelling on face, they was sure if aspirin caused it, hence starting Clopidogrel

I've been on Clopidigrel for the past 8 years as I am allergic to Asprin, I have no issues with it at all 😊

Thank you Shootist. I hate clopidogrel, I never had side effects before but with clopidogrel I have a rash inside my lips, brain fog and upper leg pain and weakness, the last stops me getting around. After stents op in September i was given clopidogrel. Doctor stopped aspirin, this has reduced the rash inside my lips but not much and i self medicate with dapsone which I already take for dermatitis but now three times the dose. If my leg gives way again, I will have to go back to the doctor.

I am on Clopidogrel and Aspirin and other meds since having a stent fitted 5 months ago, but feel really sore, constantly burping which is causing severe pain to stomach and chest, sometimes I think its my heart again, been put on Lansoprazole and Ranitidine to counteract the trapped wind but it is having no effect. Feel like stopping all the meds and just taking the risk as I gets me down.
