Know how you Twinkly, just knocked a door handle at the weekend, and the lump and bruise on my arm are so painful and getting blacker by the day, just like the bite I had back in the summer which all got really infected and this has taken ages to go leaving a rather nasty looking spot, not sure why this all happens 😳

Your puppy looks adorable, bet they keep you on your toes, and you are looking good too.

I bruise easy too - even without any trauma. Honestly, there isn't a time that I'm bruise free. I actually discussed this with my specialist nurse only yesterday. She said, it's a combination of; a) being on aspirin and b) platelets that are not functioning properly. I would imagine this would also effect the process of healing from wounds etc., too.

Maybe you should get the scratch on your face checked out?

I use something called Hirudoid ointment, with permission from my haematologists. It removes haematomas. I have MDS type 1, Immune Thrombocytopenia and I take Prednisolone for both that condition and Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Ask permission from your gp or specialist, just in case.

Know exactly what you mean Twinkly! My lower legs always have bruises or marks from bites that happened years ago! I used to feel self-conscious of wearing shorts but I don't care anymore, if people don't like what they see its their problem!! Our pup is now 7-8 months old and still causes most of the newer bruises and scratches but it seems like none of them ever quite go and the scratches open up and bleed again at the slightest suggestion, it is annoying but if that's all I have to put up with I can't really complain. I managed to get tangled up in his long leash yesterday, I now have a doozy of a swollen bruise behind my knee, very painful! It might be an idea to get your face checked out though, just in case it's infected and that's slowing your healing as well. Take good care of yourself.

Yup me too Twinks and likewise often doggie paws that bruise me!!😀🐾 They come up so easily and take a long time to go although I do have patches where I don't have any at all. All part of the odd MPN world I guess! Happy Doggie Days

Hi, I find Arnica gel helps, I think it reduces the pain and gets rid of bruises a bit quicker, worth a try. Best wishes, Frances
