I was diagnosed in Feb17 when I had my bloods checked six months after having Herceptin- platlets were 900 and Hb 18!

I had a bmb and started on Aspirin and Hydrea.

Bloods done a month after starting were very good and I continue to see Haematologist on a monthly basis .

Have experienced all emotions you can imagine but remain upbeat - I find the tingling in my hands and feet annoying but I do benefit from good walks.

I live in Cyprus so need to deal with the weather.

I find this site very interesting and informative.

Hi Brid12 and welcome to the forum.

Which MPN have you been diagnosed with?

It is understandable that you have experienced differing emotions and I empathise with you. Great too though that you manage to remain upbeat.

Stick with us and feel free to ask questions. We all learn so much from each other.

Good Luck

Thank you Mary - yes forgot the most important thing - I have thrombocytosis- I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer exactly 2yrs ago - caught very early - had a lumpectomy and was Her2 pos hence the Herceptin for a year.

Needed this like a hole in the head !

My non identical twin sister was diagnosed with Chronic leukemia two yrs ago so it's genetic with us. She isn't on any treatment.

Hope you are well

It sounds like you're receiving excellent health care in Cyprus - with the monthly appointments! So sorry to hear about the breast cancer diagnosis you've had to contend with as well.

I'm well, and thank you for asking. I was diagnosed around 18 months ago with ET (jak2+). This was picked up on a random blood test with a platelet count of around 500; I was prescribed aspirin and hydroxy due to being over 60 years of age.

I consider myself lucky that my ET was picked up before anything sinister may have happened.

Take Care

The care has been excellent Mary initially private but had to go to Nicosia for that a long way from Paphos- now at the General here and very happy -

We can both breathe a sigh of relief at been caught on time all good wishes to you.
