My husband has myloefibrosis and is waiting to go into hospital for an iron infusion as he is very aneamic. He has been suffering with cellulitis with very swollen legs. But now the swelling has gone down but he has terrible pain from his foot up to his knee . Has anyone else had any symptoms similar.
Hi, have myelofibrosis also get cellulitis . Have bone pain in legs but tends to be upper leg: a couple of years ago when I officially still had PV was told could be due to over activity of bone marrow. Not sure if still the case now i have MF but possibly linked to changes in bone marrow.
started on Ruxo about 15 months ago and much much better than when on hydroxy. I am quite careful not to overdo things and this limits me. Suspect your husband has had MF for longer than my 15 months?
By the way, I find if I put my legs up the pain lessens...tend to sit on a sofa with my legs up quite a lot, interspersed with walking the dogs!
Thanks Jane - I did reply to you yesterday but it doesn't seem like it went through.
He does sit with his legs up the whole time as he has no energy at all which I think is prob a lot to do with the leg problem. He walks about the house but that's all. Hoping this iron drip will help him on Tuesday.
Yes he is in his fifth year now which has been a very rocky road for him. He is 72 so prob a lot older than you.
I apologise if I'm sending out negative thoughts but it is quite grim at the moment.
