Hi everyone. Haven't posted on here for a while. Hope everyone is ok. I had a recent blood test that showed an abnormal result for liver funtion. I was diagnosed with Et back in November and wanted to know could this be linked. I'm waiting for the test to be repeated but feeling very worried.

I have the same problem from time to time but it usually goes away! Hope yours does the same. Not sure how they are linked but I get the impression that our drugs and our illness pre-dispose us to liver problems. When i get the amber light I go from the occasional drink to no alcohol at all for a while and I suspect that helps.
Hi Yasmin - I get occasional abnormal LFT tests but like jane13 they then return to normal - it also seems the gap between normal and the level requiring further action is quite big so although my levels are sometimes above normal my haem isn't worried about them. In my case it seems like it's linked to being on interferon but no suggestion that I need to stop that.
Have you checked how high your levels actually are and if your haem feels any action is needed?
Hi Andy. The test was actually done by my gynaecologist as I have no periods for a whole year and thats when it was picked up. I see my gp this afternoon so he can do run more blood test so will ask him the levels then
My last test showed up some abnormalities,I panicked, having looked them up ! My Dr and Consultant do not seem worried and I have my normal monthly test next week...I think if these odd things come up continually then they are investigated. Yes ,also the Meds do strange things to us......Best wishes all.
Hi, since being on Pegasys (ET Jak2+) my liver function test result is also slightly elevated. I am now taking Essentiale and my last LF test was normal.
