Hi twinkley,

I try to eat healthy but since my diagnosis of ET I have realised a lot of green coloured veg (not all) is high in vitamin K. This can increase my platelet levels. I try to stay away from some of them now. I used to eat a lot of curly kale but have found its very high in vit K. So no more nutrabullet curly kale for me. I loved prunes too but again high in vit K. I suppose everything in moderation can only be good for you.

Best wishes lainy πŸ€—

Hi lainy .how difficult for you with limited diet ,but as you so rightly say small steps

Hi Lainy. Are you sure it increases your platelets? Vitamin K rich foods affect your bodies ability to clot which is why people on the blood thinner Warfarin have to avoid sudden increases or decreases of these foods. But I don't believe it affects our platelet levels. Maybe Maz can advise us. Katie

Wise words, I seem to spend more time on the fruit and veg counter myself these days, but really worth it.

Thank you for your reply .i try to encourage and suggest ways to improve our lives as we are living everyday with a difficult ,sometimes debilitating blood problem .I try to share my own ways of coping ,fully expect more educated ,experienced experts to agree or suggest better alternatives ..It certainly helps to talk and share ...sschrammm. Nice to know you consider yourself an animal tho ......all the best !! Twinkly πŸ˜‚
