Hi this may be a daft question but is it ok for me to have reflexology treatments? I'm 54 ET & PV JAK2 +. I am hearing mixed reports and just wanted to know if anybody else has had any.

Many thanks Jacqui

Hi Jacqui, when I have my pedicures done every month have to keep the old feet looking good, my therapist always does reflexology on them it is amazing, she has also found that I had a problem with my (back and neck from a whiplash accident I had) also picked up on a tummy problem. Apart from that I have had no problems what so ever, she knows all about my ET and is aware that some changes could occur, but the only thing I have found is that it is very relaxing, plus my feet feel wonderful afterwards.

I am not sure if we should have reflexology with our conditions, but if it makes me feel good then so be it.

Sorry I cannot help, but maybe someone else on here might know.

Hi Jacqui I had MF and went for reflexology for about 3 years and found it a lovely relaxing experience with no downside. I don't know what mixed reports you are hearing but most folk really seem to get something positive from it. You can feel the tension lifting as the treatment progreases. Go and enjoy it !! Chris

Hi Holly. . . You do experience feelings in other areas such as back , neck , head . . I really can't see any reason why cancer folk shouldn't have it as it's linked directly to our cancer unit and Oncology at my local hospital and my consultant knew I was having it. Like I say I found it most beneficial as does my wife who is having it now as part of Carers therapy at our local Hospice who are involved in my pain management.

What could be better than relaxing on a bed trolley, soft pipe music and an expert massaging essential oils into your feet. Bliss !! 😌😌😌 xx
