Hi all, im about to turn 43 and while i do have existing life policies, i would like to get a new policy. Does anyone have any recommendations for a company that will be sensible about our condition? Thanks

Hi Johoho,

Being very realistic, our MPN's are classed as a cancer, insurance companies are paying out on claims for critical illness and also giving enhanced annuity rates for pensions due to a shorter life expectancy. I would be very surprised if you could get reasonable life insurance, if at all.

I don't want to be doom and gloom but if we want payouts for critical illness and enhanced annuity rates why should we expect them to underwrite us for life cover.

I would hang on to the policies you have at all costs.

This is purely my opinion. I'm sure someone from the forum will let you know if they have been successful.

Kind regards

Judy

I finally got insured after 12 mths , £100 pound a month I have to pay

Probably one of your better options is to get a policy or policies that offer life cover with no medical required, I have added 2 or 3 of them since diagnosis.

The last two I have added the company giving the best return for my money was Shepherds.
