When coming for an appointment, will you then write to my GP/Consultant

If I come along either for myself or children for an appointment, do you then write to my GP afterwards. I feel that sometimes doctors are not very well equipped with headaches and what to do, so this would be most useful. Mary F

Hi Mary. Yes, our doctors write a detailed report following the consultation outlining the patient's headache history, any examinations carried out during the appointment and then recommendations for treatment and lifestyle changes. A copy is given to both the patient and the GP so that both get a clear guide to our course of action. We also give specific factsheets that may be of use to both parties should the patient need more information on a specific drug or headache type.

We have excellent feedback from GPs on the reports we send out, many referring further patients to us because they are so impressed by the level of detail and simple yet effective interventions we recommend.

We want to help GPs to be the best first line of defence in future!
