migraine aura

Does anyone live in fear of having an aura ( migraine). . Do you think you can bring one on, . Because I have had these on and off for about 8 years. About three monthly, but now I seem to be having one every week, I wonder if because I know it's a week since, I think I am going to get one and I do.

How can I stop expecting to have one. They are so scary. Cannot take Triptan. I have glaucoma. But consultant says no connection.

I had migraine auras when going into menopause,at the worst six a month,if I had one then I knew one would follow the next day ,I think the hormones in menopause was the start of mine but now they are few and far between, lights, sun was a trigger even the fridge light or looking at the telly in a darkened room , sometimes rose wine did it sometimes I didn't know what triggered it! Looking at the phone also too long did it , especially again in a darkened room. I did get stressed by them at the time I remember so I know how you feel

My primary trigger is also contrasting light - something bright when all around isn’t. Reflections in puddles can do it, walking past a south-facing window, occasionally a bright computer screen. Hormones can play a factor too, particularly low cortisol (I have adrenal insufficiency). Auras never last more than 25-30 minutes for me, so not worried by them, just inconvenienced by them

Hi I had an aura migraine three or four days ago. I get them once or twice a year. They don’t really worry me too much now. I guessed what it was when I had the first one. Admittedly it was a bit scary at first. They last for twenty minutes. I take an asprin as soon as I know I’ve got one coming. I was told to do that. Apparently and I don’t want to frighten you but you are more likely to get a stroke if you have aura migraines without pain. I used to get the really bad pain migraines but as I got older the pain has gone and has been replaced by aura migraines.
