Histamine Intolerance Migraine and Anxiety

So for the past ten years, and thinking back probably since childhood, I have suffered migraines.

These got a lot worse around ten years ago feeling spaced out, off balance, irritable, fatigue, flaky skin on scalp/ears and just generally not feeling like myself.

Have been to numerology, ENT and GP. No one could find anything wrong after examinations and MRI scans and was passed off as migraine and anxiety so went through a number of medications before settling on Sertraline and Propanol which were pretty effective but I still wasn’t right. Still if balance, tires, spacey and just write it off as ‘that’s just the way it is’.

I started to get joint pain but only left knee, left elbow and wrists on both hands.

I was getting nowhere with standard medical treatment so went to see a nutritionist for a good intolerance test and found out I was intolerant to onion!! Can deal with that.

I mentioned to the nutritionist that I suffer migraines and he suggested looking at histamine as a possible cause of the symptoms I was having.

I lowered the amount of histamine in my diet and tries a DAO enzyme supplement.

Within a week all symptoms were gone. No spacey, full of energy, no dizziness, skin cleared up on scalp and ears. I felt the beat I’ve felt in ten years!! Apart from the joint pain mentioned earlier.

So I dropped the propanol last week and within a week all the joint pains were gone!

I’m still taking the Sertraline as will probably need to taper this off so seeing GP in a few weeks just to give myself a run at the low histamine diet and supplement.

I’ve been lost on where to turn for so long I thought I’d post this in the hope it helps others as conventional medicine doesn’t always consider food intolerances and throws medication at people.

Really hope this helps someone else.
