Hi, I have been suffering chronic migraines for many years (progression from ‘weekend migraines’ and maybe 1-2 weekly migraines to almost daily attacks) and am currently trying my 5th preventative medicine, which is Candesartan. In the past, the only medication that helped abort an attack was sumatriptan 50mg, the administration of which I carefully evaluate every time. I have noticed that they have stopped being as effective since going on Candesartan (I have built up to 16mg a day); my migraines have not decreased. At the same time, I’ve noticed a slight change in the migraine itself, in that it now feels like having cramp or an inflated balloon inside my skull that is about to burst. Has anybody else experienced any effects like that? Not seeing my neurologist until October and my GP was unable to advise... Thinking of stopping Candesartan altogether... Any advice and feedback would be amazing! Many thanks!

I don't have any experience such as yours, I'm afraid. However, I can only advise you that you need to talk to somebody who can help, and one way or another, you need to make contact with your specialist. He/she would have a PA working for him/her. Be a bit pushy if you need to.
