I am afraid I don’t know what a consultation document is. Perhaps it is something we don’t usually hear about in the US. Please explain the term. Thanks.
Hi Josie53, so in the US you have Airmovig and we were hoping it was coming to the UK under the name Erenumab, but the medical body that approves new drugs for use had said no because they say its expensive and isn't proven to work for all migraine sufferers. As you know, most meds on work on some people not all so its not a good argument (I don't think so anyway!), so they open up consultation putting across their views and you get the chance to comment on why you think it should be allowed. I said that for people in as much pain as migraine sufferers should be given access to anything that may help. After all, if they can control their migraine they can get on with life and be less cost to the state.
Isn’t that the truth? I am fortunate enough to be retired now but many folks are not. Lost wages and or sick days add up to far more than the monies spent on migraine meds to my way of thinking. Thanks for the clarification, Spinnaker141. Truly hope Airmovig or Ernumab are allowed at last in the UK and that it helps you. Good luck!
