How have you all been over Christmas?

Hi all, I've been thinking about those on the forum who might not so much be enjoying the festivities - not a good time to feel unwell when most around us are joining in with all the eating drinking and fun. I did see 1 new post that says "I feel like killing everything that makes a noise" oh dear, Christmas and New Year must be a nightmare for you πŸ˜”.

I have good news in that, with all the traveling, interrupted sleep pattern and chocolate gorging, I've not suffered any migraine. I am on Amitryptaline but was not getting full relief so started acupuncture sessions at the beginning of December. After the 2nd treatment, I was amazed to not even be aware of the daily head pain which has plagued me for months. I have been very careful with diet, taking Dolovent supplement, drinking lots of water and hardly touching alcohol so all things combined I hope are giving me a good result, and wanted to pass on that there is hope that even after months of chronic migraine you may be able to find relief.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2018πŸΎπŸŽ‰ xx

Hi Katherine.

Firstly, happy christmas! That's fantastic news that you've not suffered any migraines over the Xmas period - this time of year can be awful for some so it's always good to hear when some get welcome relief from pain.

I've had a strange time myself over the Xmas break - I take propranolol three times daily and sumatriptan when I get an attack - with small daily migraines first thing in the morning which has rendered me useless until the afternoon and reduced my appetite due to dizziness.

My migraines usually last between four and six hours until the effects wear off but the last week they've gone completely with no lasting feeling. I have been eating the usual Xmas junk like chocolate, shortbread and mince pies so I wonder if the change has affected my migraines?

Anyway, I'm waffling now.

Hope you have a great new year and your migraines continue to be staved off.

Take care,

Rich x
