I have gone through too many meds to list for my migraines.
My last one is sSandomigran and it sort of works. However weight gain is a problem, is it the meds causing this?
I am tired of taking meds and getting frustrated.

Hi, Yes it does cause weight gain. In some countries they use it to help patients who don't have an appetite because it makes you hungry. I gained weight on it but kept taking it because it helped for about 18months. So frustrating isn't it??!!!
I have chronic migraine but just had a better couple of weeks after giving up tomatoes and potatoes. Apparently they are in the deadly nightshade family and can cause migraine in some people. I have a lot of triggers like most people but I keep looking for triggers.
Don't despair. You are not on your own. Keep on hoping.

Hi, my migraines are currently out of control (32 so far this year & the last week has been particularly bad). When I look back at my 8 year diary, i see Topiramate helped initially but then stopped helping (despite playing around with dosage as suggested by dr). I've tried so many holistic methods with mixed results (can only help!), but still get unexplained migraines (most of them!). At 49, i think my hormones are playing a part in the latest exacerbation... the point of all this, is I'm talking with dr on Thurs to discuss options & I'm keen to try what another forum member said was 'miracles':- a combination of Propanolol (am) & Amitriptyline (pm)... like that forum member, I've tried both individually without success. I will let you know if this helps (if Dr agrees). Sharing info on this forum is a God-send. Good health and clear heads to everyone. 😀
