I've never had anything like that? Just a really dopey feeling?

Hopefully someone else could relate?

You could call your pharmacy for advice if your worried.

Good luck!!

I just got off of my prescription of Amitriptyline 20 mg and it didn't help me it only made me over emotional, but that's not the case for everyone so I hope it helps you out. The bad taste is normal as far as I know.

Hey I'm on this and have been for months 25mg and it works well for my headaches the only side effects I had was a bit of morning grogginess and a dry mouth in the morning and yes the tablet itself tastes disgusting so try down it quickly with water to avoid the bad taste it has

All the best

How long have you been on them? It worked for me for 9 months

Nearly 6 months but I was on 10mg for 3 months then increased to 25mg I guess some people end up with a tolerance for medication after a while hence why some find that it eventually has no effect on them with their condition

I was on 25mg from the beginning, maybe I would have been better starting on the 10mg

Side affects for these preventatives are quite scary. I'm determined not to take any after amitriptalyne. I was completely off my head for 9 months. Yes bad taste and dry mouth but initially helped the migraines.

What dose have you been given? I found I had to build up slowly and start with half a 10mg for a couple of weeks. Even so they dried my mouth out so much I was coughing all night and couldn't sleep. They did nothing to help my migraines.

I was prescribed 25mg straight away. No wonder the side affects were bad

I've been on 150mg starting at 10mg working my up. I had to come of it to have my daughter who 2 yrs old now, then went back on it once I stopped breast feeding and now that we're trying for another I've had to come off it again. I personally love this drug! I have Chronic Migraines, I have them 50% of time and I have fibromyalgia and insomnia. Amitriptyline really really helps my sleep and brings my pain down a notch. I didn't think it was doing anything until I came off it and then things got so much worse, I can't wait to go back on it! I've been 13 other drugs, Amitriptyline and botox are the only things that have helped. The doctors quite like it too bc it's quite an old drug so they have a lot of data on it. Goodluck with yours!
