Has anyone ever tried or used a devic... - National Migraine...
Has anyone ever tried or used a device called Cefaly for Migraine relief. It's some type of Electric Shock Treatment you wear on your head.
No but it is nothing more than a tens machine.
I have looked I to it and you can purchase tens machine at some physiotherapist 's it is the same concept but much cheaper, I my physio rents them on a monthly basis so you an try before you buy. i have read some people do benefit, so may be worth a try, as one migraine sufferer to another, we will try anything hope this helps
I have a TENS machine for chronic pain. It was suggested I use it on my face around the area I got the pain. Some of the pain in my face occurs in the same place as where I get migraine headaches, particularly around the temple.
So I applied it as instructed and it caused awful pain! I think I'd got the electrodes right where the trigeminal nerve runs, and this is the nerve that causes the pain in a migraine.
I'm not saying that this would happen for other people. And at the time, my face was incredibly sensitive to light touch. But I haven't dared try it again, and to be honest, during a migraine attack I can only tolerate heat pressed into my head.
On the other hand, applying the machine to other places where I get pain was quite effective.
I would definitely say try before you buy. And if you do wear something like this on your head and you go out with it, be prepared for some funny looks and comments.
