I suffer Daily Severe Chronic Migrane... - National Migraine...
I suffer Daily Severe Chronic Migrane. Basically I have had a permanent Migrane since August 1998.
I get migraines and have chronic pain in left shoulder and arm and left side of face. The pain can be a trigger for the migraines, but it also gets worse during an attack. I've found physiotherapy helpful recently. Also have botox for the pain in an NHS pain clinic which helps the migraine headache as well.
Have you tried all the usual stuff like keeping a migraine diary and trying to work out what triggers it? Also, taking medication too often can lead to chronic daily headaches. Even if you've been through all these things before it's sometimes worth having another go at them.
Good luck
Thx for reply......had physiotherapy a few times. No help for me. I have to keep away from pure orange juice, bananas and dark chocolate. Makes migraine a lot worse. Botox would be nice. I've started to read Herniated nerves in the spine, causes peoples migraines, with the shoulder pain.MRI scan will show this.
Hi
I've recently come across on the internet a physiotherapist called Dean Watson - he created the Watson Approach which treats migraine - you say you get neck and shoulder pain which is what I experience with my migraines. I've tried all sorts of preventatives but with very little successTake a look at his webpage - google the dean watson approach. He does not practice standard physiotherapy - it is a specific approch. I am in the process of trying to find a physio near me that practices this method as I too suffer awful migraines aroiund my menstrual cycle and also with ovulation. Good luck
what meds do you take and how often??
Just paroxetine 40mg a day........it's an anti-depressant, sometimes used for migranes
