Had anyone else had a phone appointment with a mental health doctor arranged and they haven’t phoned!!!, please I know this is a tough time for the nhs but I am sick and tired off my gp also.

I phoned them and still waiting for a response. In the letters I have from the department off health it states still to go to the doctors if you feel unwell.

And this appointment was arranged 3 months ago so there’s plenty off time for the south Lincoln community mental health team doctor to rearrange if there’s a problem.

I have to keep phoning - more than seven times - and then they are also trying to pass me onto the GP - I have recovered and they think the GP should give me the depot - injection! The directors are actually talking to my GP - when I did not want to be discharged to doctor

Frustrating isn’t it, seems sometimes we don’t have any input into are treatments the gp’s have in the past changed my med doses without talking to me

They have control but sometimes they do not want to take responsibility - that is the case of my GP, so I don't want them to attempt transferring my depot to doctors - stay with psychiatrist

Hello and welcome,There is no reason why they did not phone you to discuss your problems.

However it is up to your Doctor to approach the Mental Health Department you were referred to. Sometimes after an extended period the Doctor has possibly thought you are that much better and cancelled the the initial appointment. Like you I have a telephone referral and I have been informed about the time of the call. One problem is attending a clinic because of infection risks. The same applies to a Dentist or when you get your eyes checked. It is and can be all down to informed choices. That is no help to you, although you are not alone

One of the main problems is at this time is Mental Health has been suffocated by people suffering mental health concerns regards Covid and that has caused a real backlog of treatment, hence telephone appointments before meeting you in person. This system was problematic even before the Virus was affecting the referral system. It may be there are staff shortages because of lockdown and that is the problem. I know at the moment getting a face to face with your Doctor can be a real problem at the moment they are relying on telephone appointments in the first instance, so the best way is still through the phone call to GP Surgery. Your Doctor is not anything unusual at this time so it may be the best way forward. Make a list of your problems for when you phone to keep yourself on track. Let me know how you get on.

Well I’ve had an call from my mental health team the doctor have left, there going to contact me in January for a new appointment ’if’ they get a a new doctor. Feels like they are fobbing me off now, I really really don’t like the mental health nurse at my gps, or my gp practice in general I don’t trust them making me a cup off tea

When I moved up here I found the practice not as good as where we lived. However I suppose I am not known very well here.

I have become a member of the Patients Participation group that deals with the Patient needs and requirements. The problem is that has been cancelled because of Covid. It may be a good idea to join the on at your Surgery and you will possibly get the chance to help the Practice needs and expectations. I had a report sent by email today and it is stuffed with what is going on at practice. This way you may have a chance to modernise the system Generally at meetings you do get a cup of tea or coffee, sometimes a biscuit.

Mental Health is going through a rough time at the moment, the time of year is not helped by the Covid Virus. and many people are waiting for appointments because stress has really affected people over this time.

You are not alone sad to say and I feel for you, I feel you have not been considered when it comes to your Mental Health. Talk to your GP Practice and explain what has happened. I am going through something similar and it is getting to me as well. I have been waiting and put off by the Practice and recently I saw my Doctor and I made an appointment with the Speciality about a month ago, it will be a telephone appointment by the Hospital first then an appointment if required at the clinic, so you are not alone and like you I do not know how too push any more than I have.

I am suffering a great deal of physical pain and I have to just wait, all unsatisfactory.
