Venlafaxine.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Venlafaxine to start working? I have been put on 150mg a day.

I’m on Venlaflaxine and been on it 6 months so far. For me it took a couple of weeks for me to start feeling the positive effects. They do say it’s one of the fastest to start taking affect. Are you changing from one med to another?

I am on mirtazapine as well, they have just added Venlafaxine I have been on it for 8 days.

What’s your Mirtazapine for? Is that one that helps you sleep? Hopefully it’ll start kicking in soon for you. It’s been the best one I’ve been on so far.

How effective is Mirtazapine for you in helping you sleep? I occasionally take Zopiclone for this. I realise I should be asking my doctor about this but hey - there's a chance you have lived experience and that's really valuable

I take quetiapine for sleep, it’s been really difficult to get the dosage right but I definitely see the benefits now. Like you say you should always take advice from your gp but it’s good to have ideas

I get to sleep ok, but I keep waking up, I must get about 4 hours sleep.

Hi, I have been on Venlafaxine for a year. It did take about 2 weeks for it to start working for me.

I had tried other medications before the Venlafxine, but this is the one that has worked for me. It has allowed me to feel well enough to be able to go on and do the important work of rebuilding my self confidence and also learning how to get better sleep and be a stronger person.

I still have a few stessful issues that have meant I am still on the medication, but I know that I will be able to come off the medication once I have gotten over these issues.
