They are early what part of the countryside are you in
BOB
I'm from Oxfordshire and they have been out in this area for several weeks now
Hello Gambit
When I was stable many years ago I was offered a job in Oxford, although I butted out it is a lovely Shire

Scotland. They've been popping up through the moss/grass for a week or so now.
Lovely Pic Carmela. Very uplifting. Thanks for posting X
Thanks for posting Carmela
They seem to be late up here in Northumberland, although the Primroses are out and the Bluebells are well on their way.
Bit worried with the fruit garden they seem to be rushing to flower and we are still getting cold mists at night. and things seem to take one step forward and two steps back.
The Primroses seem past it already. All our new plantings seem not to know what to do it may be me watching the garden more attentive with all being new, possibly me

I'd love to have a fruit garden! My great-aunt has a red-currant bush, and there are tons of brambles around for the picking, but I can never get enough raspberries. Mind you, there's nothing like a wild raspberry for sweetness.
Looking after fruit and orchard is one of my weaknesses I just love to see the blossom and fruit forming,It takes me a long time now to look after the plots and sometimes I wonder if I have done the right thing at my age planting a new orchard, as the trees and canes take a long time to fruit.
It really is worth the trouble
Thanks

That's lovely. I like to see things growing - although it's especially good with fruit because you're anticipating autumnal bounty too! I also like it just for the sake of being outside, and helping things grow. When I was little I read The Secret Garden over and over, and loved the descriptions of the garden coming alive. The film version actually got it very well too.
Hi Carmela nice Spring Photo.you sure don't see them in the city.
How are you doing? Good to hear from you .
Hannah
I was really pleased to see them as the only time I've seen them in any numbers was in Estonia. It's a wee 'wildlife corridor' that they're growing in, with ox-eye daisies and lesser celandine and hawthorn and so on. It used to be the edge of a field so I'm guessing they're native to the area. We have wood anemones in the museum gardens too. Been busy at work, but the end of the week has been quieter, thank-goodness, as I've been plagued with a dry tickly throat and I'm exhausted with coughing!
