On the 31st January, I had a circumcision on the NHS. My operation was a local anesthesia. This was really quick, from seeing my doctor to operation was 21 days.

I can see a few guys are doing weekly updates, which I have found useful. So I wanted to share my experience.

Week 2 update

This week has been a lot better compared to last week. We are still bleeding around the stitches, but the discomfort is getting less and less.

I am also still waking up at night, but my night time erections are no longer painful, erections feel uncomfortably tight. But things calm down quickly and I can fall back to sleep within a few minutes.

I have found the scar and penis feel more tender in the morning and I am ok by the afternoon and evenings.

During the day, I walk at a slower pace and I get a slight twinge during the day. I still can’t wear Jean or my normal office work wear. So I had to get the smart joggers for the office.

I am reducing the paracetamol to mornings and afternoon.

I still apply Vaseline three times a day which keeps my penis form rubbing.

The sensitivity has reduced when my head rubs against my trousers.

Next week we have a post op check up, just to make sure all is going well.

One concern I have, I have an odd smell, it smells clinical rather than infection. Has anyone else found this? I will speak to my doctor about this on Tuesday.

Heya, good to hear an update from another Circ Bros. Early days, but sounds like you're managing everything well. Funnily enough, I often found sensitivity and twinges would come towards the end of the day, like you I kept up with the Vaseline for the first month or so. I stopped around week 7/8 when I just felt like I didn't need it anymore. The smell thing... yes, from time to time I did notice a medical smell, I didn't worry about it too much, just put it down to Vaseline and new skin smells.
