Help with penile numbness

Parts of my penis are numb. particularly, the shaft skin on the upper right side and portion of the head near the end.

Possible causes:

I've been on Finasteride since age 17. I'm 45 now.

I was circumcised at age 15, though I didn't have problems after this. Although this was a stupid choice on my part.

I have cycled/mountain biked quite a bit. When I first started some 12 years ago, I wasn't aware of the dangers of putting pressure between the legs and,, therefore, didn't take precautionary measures.

The issue has been most pronounced over the past several years, but has been an issue for me for quite a while.

What can I do to resolve this? I have no problems getting and maintaining an erection and satisfying my lady, but sex isn't nearly as enjoyable for me as it once was. I can't achieve orgasm without an extended period of time and concentrating really hard. Sometimes that doesn't even help. A lot of sensation that I once had simply isn't there and it's really quite unfortunate.

Any help to get me started in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Also, I do not have diabetes or any known medical condition that would cause this.

Not sure about the numbness but harder to get erection as you get older is normal and sometimes the harder you think about it the worse it gets so I don't think that's related. But if you are concerned, it would be good to get it checked out by a professional... Good luck!

Why were you commenced on finasteride at the age of 17?

This is usually permanent, as humanity does not have the technology to address penis sensitivity related issues (neurogenesis and neurotherapy). The issue is related to the physical nerves and nerve endings which have become damaged.

Generally, nerve damage is permanent, but recovery over the years is possible in case the root of the problem is taken care of.

I wonder if this wasn't brought on by cycling with the hard seat pressing upwards for long periods of time. Is there a surgery to relieve this compression?

Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation on the internet. The issue I was experiencing was caused by overmasturbation and what is commonly referred to as "the death grip". Avoiding these practices as well as pornography for a week and a half has caused sensation to increase tenfold. Just thought I would post back to possibly help others experiencing the same issue and to add some hope of regaining sensation for those who have been told it's hopeless.

I must disagree with the other comments as the symptoms are likely side effects of finasteride, as well-reported (I have links). Are you still on it?Feel free to pre message me, if preferred.
