Hi guys, I finally got cut this morning and all seemed to go quite well. I’m disgusted by the sensitivity but it’s not as bad as I’d feared BUT the bleeding from the frenulum area is still pretty heavy 6 hours post op. Is this something I should be concerned about? I seems to worsen when I go for a pee so I’m assuming I’m disturbing the clot.
Anyone else go through something similar?
Thanks in advance guys!

hey bro, it’s a week today since I’ve had my op so I know what your going through.. the first couple days your penis is going to be massively sensitive that is normal mines still sensitive now after a week, bleeding is normal to I wouldn’t worry I did for the first 2 days gradually get some now but that’s normal again. After the 2 days I started to shower then recently started to bath to let it soak. Your gonna get dead skin around the penis which is annoying which I’m now getting now as it’s attached to the stich and it seems to be pulling so I’m a bit worried about that but if you want any decent advice apply Vaseline constantly! Does help with the rubbing etc
I just saw your post actually about the skin situation - hope you get some good advice on that but if other wounds I’ve had are anything to go by, dead skin will drop on its own. The stitches are dissolvable right? So in theory anything attached to them should drop off too? I’ll be trying the Vaseline or coconut oil after a few days I think. Im just taking the grin and bear it approach now but ngl, it’s kinda hell. Need a fast forward button 😂
your also gonna get erections in the middle of the night which are painful to say the least after the first couple of days then gradually start to reduce the pain. I won’t lie mate the first couple days are gonna be horrendous but you’ll be ok
It was literally the case for me, woke up today with a painful erection. There’s blood leftover on Willy. I can’t believe that we can’t even control these things.
Yeah that happened. About every hour or two I’ve woken up in pain (from both the sensitivity and my legs, hips and back hurt from holding myself in a rigid fetal position) - so far so good 😂
hi. Some bleeding is normal. My frenulum was the most sensitive and took the longest to fully heal. About 3 weeks. Now it is just delicate to the touch (3 months)
So far I’m allowing my little fella to retreat a little and creating a gap for it but I know that’s not at all a sustainable thing, so I’m thinking groin cup for this first few weeks and then some sort of tight but comfortable boxers to restrict movement thereafter. I’ve built this hypersensitivity issue up a MASSIVE amount before yesterday, so it’s gonna take some kinda mind miracle to get me used to the sensation. Have you been able to handle it directly?
Hi. I couldn't handle at all in the first few days. The anaesthetic effect fully wears off then too so its the worst time. It gets better. I found tight pants and holding it upright worked best to stop movement. if it was still there was no pain, only movement caused pain for me. I wore a dressing during the day inside tight pants then took it off at night to allow it to breathe. I had to soak the dressings off. Then the next step is cleaning - important. Use salt water in a glass and dip your penis in it. Salt helps prevent infection but also promotes healing. don't use soap and don't rub it. Let it air dry too. Night time erections can't be helped, they might cause pain and bleeding but they won't do harm in the long run. The best you can do is not to encourage conscious erections , the problem is that after the surgery you'll be more easily aroused, which is the last thing you need! I was much more horny than usual - its to do with the nerves being more sensitive due to it all being messed with! Once you can even tolerate touching the head etc, you can apply Vaseline to help stop rubbing. Good luck. Don't hesitate to ask any more questions - no such thing as a stupid question...
Thank you! Last question for now is how soon did you shower? I’m hoping to shower today and really hoping that’s gonna help with getting used to the new sensations. I’ve previously been able to let the water run on the head as far back as I’ve been able to retract the foreskin until it was cut (which was quite far), but god knows what it’s gonna be like right now :/ Doctor said today should be okay for both showering and salt bathing
No problem man! I showered on about day 3, mainly to help soak off the dressing. Just avoided shower water hitting my penis directly, and no soap. I used to take the salt water rinse in the shower. Also after dipping i didn't wash salt water off but let it dry so it carried on working. It does sting a bit but not too bad. 4 tsp salt in a pint of water. Dip 'n Dash lol!
😂 Stinging I can cope with, pain I can cope with but the sensitivity is a mindf*ck. It’s just gonna take something to switch in my mind to say “yes this is weird, but you can cope with it”.
Yes. You do have to just go with it. I was in bed for several days motionless, and "oh shit, shit, shit" every time I needed to move! I was taking Paracetamol + Codeine in the first week too.
seems like Devon-uk has already said everything I was going to say! You’ve got a tough few weeks bud! I found I think day 5-9 were worst (night boners!!) but after that it gently gets easier. By about 2/3 weeks everything is manageable again. But full recovery for all swelling to go down and everything to look “normal” again may take months - worst case maybe 6-9 months but the end result as so worth it!
Thank you! I’m really hoping something clicks in my head at some point to say the glans making contact is weird but not that bad. Right now any contact at all and I’m screaming out. Pain is completely manageable but sensitivity is hell
It’s gonna take a while. I reckon for the first week or so I could manage to be “dressed” for maybe 30-45 mins max! And that was him point up in tight briefs with a small Vaseline coated gauze square over the head. Even then by 45 mins I was screaming and need to strip naked again and back to a dressing gown!
It does get better - I promise. I think I was dressing for a full day by around day 12… but I believe in roughing it out and coping with it for as long as possible to speed up recovery to normality. Honestly - the absolute worst part was the night boners. Best advice I had was have a bag of frozen peas.
I had bleeding until about day 9 (sat down too quickly and caused quite a bit of bleeding). I’m now day 12 and feel so much better. No pain and a slight bit of sensitivity. I didn’t wear boxers until today just to try and get the sensitivity out the way with as quick as poss (letting it hang free). Still got some swelling too.
Glad you’re feeling better! I’m not there yet but I’m sure it’ll come. Struggling from a real mental block with handling it and allowing contact. I’d built it up an enormous amount so it’s still a real battle. So far been creating a gap between it and my clothing (far too cold in my house to go naked 🤣) but I know that’s not sustainable so I’m hoping gauze, Vaseline and tight underwear will work 😬
Just take your time. Have you had any issues with weeing? Mine is like a high pressure stream now and I have to sit down to wee. The doctor said that will be my new normal though 🫠
I find it strange that the surgeons of the guys posting in this thread did not talk about post-op sensitivity and give advice about post-op care. That is really bad. I have had a number of ops on various parts of the body and these issues were always covered.
