Sutures post 4 weeks

Hi,

Todays marks complete 4 weeks of my circumcision and i still have majority of my sutures intact. Does anyone else have the same experience where their sutures lasts longer than 4-5 week mark and after how much time do they get completely dissolved?

As i have partial circumcision doctor told me that stitches will start to dissolve after 20 days and it may take upto 90 days but it depends on human body to body different time .. don’t worry bro if it make any pain then go to surgeon immediately otherwise it will start falling automatically you see when washing wound it comes out.. and my suture fall on 25 days .. still i am healing so don’t worry it will take time as stitches circumcision take time 6-8 week to heal

Hi Harsh,

Thanks for your valuable reply. So all of your sutures came off on 25th day or some of them. I had stapler circumcision but the stapler failed to staple the wounds after the incision which is why surgeon had to close the wound through sutures. at first when surgeon told this to me, i got scared but he said that the incision is really good as it was done with the help of stapler and then he attached the remaining skin to shaft manually through sutures. For me, few of sutures have started to come off but i am at 28th day of my circumcision but most of the sutures are still here.

Is there any way to make them dissolve faster? Also do you have any experience with coconut oil application and have masterbated or had sex yet?

No still don’t think for masterbation or sex because it will take prolong to wound healing because it hurt internal wound healing best after 8 week till then control will lead to good life bro.. stitches start to fall on 25 days and it will end up around 30-32 day I don’t know exactly date.. but day by day 1-3 stitches falling it just look like easily picked up.. as you did zsr then stitch so it’s difficult to predict how long to fall out but better that stitches fall out by self as it has dissolve so wound healing done it will fall out .. don’t try to pull or screatch at wound bro ..

I still not try coconut oil but after wound heal completely no pain then try boi oil that reduce scar coconut oil is also ok..when your surgeon do stitches?

Hi,

He did stitches right on the day of surgery when stapler failed to staple the incision so he had to attach the skin to shaft manually. I will wait till all the sutures get dissolved completely but as of now, i have no pain during night time erections which might be a good sign and i am applying T-bact ointment as suggested by my surgeon. I consulted with him and he said that all of them will get dissolved by 6-8 week mark so i guess all i can do is wait. How have you been healing after your stitches fell off and what precautions are your taking ?

You can always get a doctor or nurse to remove the ends of the sutures. What remains in place internally will dissolve eventually.

Hi,Thanks for your suggestion.

I have trimmed the free ends of the sutures by myself and the thread of the sutures have become soft and they no longer create issue. There is a part of the incision where there are 3 sutures really close to each other and there is some impinging sensation there, i think its because that part is still healing. The black sutures have started looking violet in color so is it a sign of them dissolving?
