One week after circumcision

Hi,

I was circumcised one week ago and I have a question about the appearance of my penis. Is it normal for the glans not to be completely exposed at this point after a circumcision?

I presumed that following a circumcision, the glans would be completely visible straight away. However, I can only see the tip of the glans at the moment and there is skin covering it. I am presuming (hoping!) this is normal and is down to swelling? When I tried to gently expose my glans, it was quite uncomfortable and so I stopped (I hope this is down to the stitches still being there?)

If anyone with a similar experience could put my mind at ease that would be greatly appreciated.

It is common for swelling to cause the foreskin to cover part of the glans. It should resolve but no surgery result can be guaranteed.

Has it all settled down? Is your glans fully exposed now?

Hi, thanks for your reply. My glans is not fully exposed as I thought it may be. My consultant advised me that he didn’t take off the whole foreskin, only the tight, phimosis affected area. It has healed well, I just have one tiny area of stitching left on my frenulum. It’s still slightly swollen there too, but every other stitch and area is fully healed.

Hi mate. Everything is absolutely fine now. I am able to have sex completely pain free. I have one stitch remaining in my frenulum but I guess over time it will fall out. Keep patient. 😀
