day 18 of circumcision

I am on day 18 and I still have about 4 dissolvable stitches left, and some swelling. Ive been wanting to take a bath thinking that it would help the recovery process but unsure if I should. Doc said just to leave it alone and when I shower let water rinse over it and instructed me not to scrub it.

Would follow my doctors orders if I were you . Don't worry about the stitches , they will be absorbed back into the body and the part outside the skin should drop/fall off. Definitely do not scrub the area since you are only 18 days past . Just keep showering and drying yourself after wards and keep the area dry and clean. All the best !

I'm on same day. Got few stitches sticking out. I been only taking showers . right now trying underwear with no gauze try to get rid sensitivity. So far sitting not issue just walking around lot pain

Yea, my doctor advised me not to apply anything on it and she never gave me pin meds. She advised me to take Tylenol when needed and told me not to apply anything to it. It’s very uncomfortable without the hood but yes you have to get it used to it. I’m able to walk comfortably and work out (upper body). Just hoping for the next few days stitches dissolve and my swelling goes away. The first week I was like why did I do this but not it’s okay. Night erection pain went away so now I don’t wake up in the middle of the night.

My doctor basically same no gauze just put on Vaseline. Tried gauze but thinking just need to try get used too it. Night erections esp first week sucked so bad..just curious how long did it take for u to walk comfortable

This last Tuesday was the first time. I was able to put my boxers on with confidence and run errands. I mowed my lawn and cleaned around the house

Showers are preferable to baths as only clean water can reach the wound, whereas one is soaking in dirty water in a bath. Once the wound has sealed (commonly 18-21 days) there is no harm in having a bath, but it may be best to shower first to remove any dirt and then enjoy a soak in the bath if you wish. DO NOT add any bath salts, nor anything else except common salt to the bath water.

That you! Wounds are pretty much closed just waiting on a couple of stitches but if I do decide to take a bath I will shower first. Thank you just want the swelling to go down.

I’m day 17, my doc told me my incision was all healed up this past Wednesday (day 14) and that I could do what ever I wanted even sexually without worrying about anything happening at this time. I’ve masturbated and been totally fine, obviously being careful. I had like 8 stitches then. Since, I’ve taken 2 baths and 4 came out. I think it helps to circulate the blood and lymph fluid which is what helps breakdown the stitches. I mean it just depends if your incision is all closed up, we all heal at different rates.

They need to be healed up all the way. I saw my doc and he looked it over and gave a couple of tugs in some places and said I was all good. Some people have taken baths thinking they might be and ended causing problems. Please make sure! You gotta be safe and careful!

Will do thank you, my urologist did not schedule me any in person follow up appointments yet. I have been emailing her and sending her pic of updates. So far she said it’s pretty good.

A little bit, but I also didn’t have any flare ups like others did. Now the swelling is gone and I’m happy I went through with the circumcision. Still gotta get used to it but overall it’s been great.

l had shower most days,very that I use the bath ,dont scrub as per doctor, just let water wash over ,try to air dry if possible,
