Its day 21 post circumsision, I had balinitis before the circumsicion, for like the first 10-13 days it was looking amazing healing perfectly even my doctor was suprised of the head of my penis was healing so quickly, but after the 13 day mark I went back to uni and my normal routine, its again now day 21 and its almost looking like it did before the op. Is it because my balinitis is coming back or because im just walking around so much and its probably chafing with my underware? That red patch of skin was there before my op but was almost gone at like day 12-13 and now its back.

It is, of course, impossible for us to give you a true answer as only your doctor can do that after examining you and making a diagnosis as to the exact cause.

A few points are worth taking into consideration:

Circumcision does not itself cure balanitis, it simply removes the moist, dark space under the foreskin that favours the growth of the infections that cause balanitis. You may still need treatment for the actual condition - so ask your doctor about it. At least it will now be easy to apply any prescribed antibiotic or anti-fungal cream to the affected area.

It is important that the correct treatment is used. An antibiotic will not cure a fungal infection and vice versa. Indeed using the wrong treatment can worsen the problem as without any of the other type of flora there is more freedom for the actual infective agent to spread.

It is not uncommon for the glans to peel rather like sunburn, especially if it had never been out of the foreskin before.

If the problem is just one of chaffing then keeping the penis still in close fitting briefs rather than swinging about freely in boxers should be beneficial. Also, be sure to wear only pure cotton underwear that will absorb moisture rather than man-made fibres that don't.

Good luck.

In view of your history, I would let your doc have a look at that. It may just be chafing but it pays to be sure.
