High ALT level blood test results.

Hi there I was wondering if anyone going through the peri menopause/ menopause has had a full blood count test done and it’s come back with high ALT levels. I had blood tests done 18 months ago for my 50 year health check and my ALT LEVEL was 26 it is now 126. My doctor is sending me for an abdominal scan but still waiting for the appointment to come through. I’m stressing about it quite a bit. Any thoughts responses really appreciated.

It could be anything, not necessarily related to peri/menopause. It is a good thing that you are going to have an ultrasound scan, it will show if there is a pathology in your liver. It could also be a viral infection or due to alcohol (if you do drink).

Hi mine has been high so they just do blood tests Regularly have you been in any medication at all, that is sometimes the cause, and when you come off it, it goes back to normal. Also when I researched things it says the liver can repair itself. Sending you a big hug 🤗
