Hi to all you fellow sufferers. I am 52 and peri menopause. I have been having a long list of many symptoms for a few years now. But now I have sore gums particularly around the inside of upper teeth that lasts a few days then goes and comes back periodically I was wondering if this too could be a symptom 😩
sore gum: Hi to all you fellow... - Menopause and Per...
sore gum
I'm currently going through that too on one side of my back teeth. Most annoying isn't it x
oh it definitely is!! Well I say this, have you seen your dentist just go check gum health? I went to my dentist and mentioned the same symptoms, he’s reassuring that my gums and teeth are fine, did X-rays just to be certain. Apparently it is quite a common symptom of peri menopause. It’s cyclical, usually happens to me prior to me having a bleed. I always treat the pain though by using corsidyl toothpaste and mouth wash for gum disease as it helps to calm the sensation!!
This is a great comfort to me, thank you for being open, women! I'm 49 yrs old, and 5 months ago I had a bout of very sore, somewhat inflamed and bleeding gums for no apparent reason. I did well with sea-salt water rinses a couple of times a day and switching to a soft bristle brush. Then suddenly, last week it came back. It's improving, with doing the same things as before. It's comforting to know that this is a symptom of peri-menopause (hormonal fluctuation), as I haven't seen it listed as one of the more popular symptoms. Our bodies are so complicated.
