am currently having Zoladex injection which has brought on menopause symptoms.
I am currently on Zoladex every 28 days (had 2nd injection) to shrink fibroids before I have a hysterectomy.
I wanted to ask if anyone had this injection for a similar thing and what symptoms they experienced?
am worried because today I ve started bleeding slightly. From the age of 14 I ve had regular periods never had any bleeding in-between and today started spotting which is like 10 days before my normal period would start.
I was told by the consultant that it would stop my bleeding, my last period 15 days after my first injection was horrendous very heavy with large clots, this lasted 7 days then I stopped.
then I had my second injection 2 weeks ago and now spotting, does anyone know if this is normal or experienced something similar am worrying slightly.
Thanks
Emma

I had this done for fibroids nearly 2 years ago. I was also put on hrt at the same time so didn’t get any menopause symptoms at all. But the bleeding initially didn’t stop for around 4 weeks and became absolutely horrendous. After around 6 weeks there was a great improvement and actually saved me from having a hysterectomy. Almost 2 years on I’ve had a handful of light periods.
Hi, I have just been advised that as my endo including the bowel has come back (After 2 surgeries - one being a major bowel resection) that they deem it too dangerous to do a hysterectomy and another bowel resection so want to try a diff route and have me on Zoladex for 2 years. I am 42 so they are hoping I will then be nearer menopause and so should help my endo. Just wanted to ask you was you on it for the full 2 years and how did you find it? Just got my head around having the hysterectomy so now having to fully switch my mind back to being on an implant instead (Which is obvs good as the less surgeries the better) but wondered as you are further along how you feel about it all? Thanks
Hi. I only had to have 3 zoladex injections 28 days apart. I’ve still been ok with everything. If you read about the zoladex you will mostly see negative comments. Maybe I was lucky but I had no problems.
