Hi I've been going through the perimenopause for 4 yrs.I went through periods of extreme sadness + anxiety for 1st year or so , still get it now and again but it passes. Hobbies and outside exercise helped me. Been having hideous hit flushes for last 6 weeks but no periods since Xmas day . Hoping at least that part is over. Hang in there and distract yourself in the best way you can.

Perimenopause
Hi Cherrett I've been going thru sadness & anxiety over the last couple of years . At first I put it down to other health problems but I'm sure it's the perimenopause. On days like today I just want to get into bed and stay there. It's good to know it passes but I'm bracing myself for the next phase. No easy answers I suppose .
Hi dog lover,I went through bereavement of my best friend father and uncle at the same time as perimenopause really kicked in, it may have been the stress that unbalanced me but the symptoms came all the same. I couldn't sleep more than 3 hrs a night had terrible anxiety separation from my husband and 2 boys. Wouldn't stay in bed once other half got up and was terrified every time he left the house. Periods were only 18 days apart and I became anaemic had food sensitivity and loss 2 stone. Thankfully that passed! but it took a year of fighting with GP that it wasn't all depression and trying to get help without going on anti depressants was hard. I ended up with counselling and CBT and a very good homeopathic Dr. All I can say from my own personal experience is GP instantly wanted to ram antidepressants down my throat and they seriously werent the answer for me !!. Just talking to others really helps. I don't suffer anxiety much anymore, just got hot 😳 flushes all the time now! but I know how awful anxiety can make you feel and sometimes for no apparent reason. There are some good herbal remedies for menopausal problems but for me taking magnesium really helped and getting an e bike so I could get out more and cycle with a club and meet other woman. Good luck with coping, it will get better but u might have to try a few things to find what works for you.
Good to here some positives x
