Visual changes in aseptic meningitis
It does effect your sight for sure I never thought I would wear glasses but I am neither of my parents did my dad died at 81 and mum 96 and they walked around without glasses but I now wear glasses all the time now not just for reading …. and I read it does effect your eye sight … the shakiness is weakness I think it will probably pass over time maybe 5/6 months … it all takes time you have had vm not some little flu … take care
Thank you for the reply , its actually for my 15 year old daughter who developed symptoms after taking naproxen . She had the blurred vision , slow speech , difficulties with loud noise and neck stiffness along with fatigue . No LP was done but neurologist diagnosed drug induced aseptic meningitis . Her MRI head was normal . Its been 3 weeks now with no resolution of her visual symptoms . Seeing neurologist again today - its just so scary that there is no advice out there . We are expected to cope with really bizarre symptoms by ourselves . I really appreciate your response
Yes, after Vm had weak eye muscles, couldn’t read, watch tv, or drive, visual distortions ( movement, seeing objects) wore prism glasses to correct for a year. Florescent store lighting, blurred my vision, wore sunglasses brown outside, Pink tinted for inside florescent light. It’s been 3 years just started driving short distances. Have patience this VM affects and changes everything, the new you will adapt and persevere. Take care

- neurologist just said it will take about 1-2 weeks for improvement but it really is not ! i know its probably early days but if I could just get a sign that she is turning the corner it would be such a huge relief . Thank you for your support
