Did you have pneumococcal meningitis or just pneumonia?
pneumonia
This site is for people who have had Meningitis.
Christmas Day developed Bacterial Menangitis: fell into a diabetic comatose state before being brought to the Hospital via Ambulence totally oblivious to the outside world from 12/25/2016 till 1/4/2017 when I awoke in the ICU at Chilton memorial hospital in NJ USA.
In a total paralytic state due to meds and complete muscular atrophy!! No bodility function control what so ever!! So not only was I fighting multiple infections now I was trying to restart my body after a TOTAL BODY CRASH!! Which started with ear and sinus infection brewing.
Now 7 months to the day they brought me to the hospital sometimes in still a little afraid to fall sleep, fora nap because I've already fallen asleep and couldn't wake up for 10 Days. i
I've just made a follow up appointment with the diagnosing Neurologist, I'm still dealing with some confusion and cognitive function worries. Getting lost on a Train of thought! The trauma of being in a coma and needing to be sunk back in a comatose state a second time due to COPD complications.
YES.. Without question you SHOULD see a therapist.. Flashbacks, being Disillusioned (being somewhere else) or displaced, and depression are normal from being in coma.
While you've had pneumonia the symptoms you describe sound very similar to those of post meningitis.
Although your symptoms might not have been the same its worth seeking help.
