Hello, it has been 3 years since I had viral meningitis. I have anxiety, short term memory issues, and lack focus. Has anyone had this experience? If so, are there things I can do to improve?

Thank you, De

For me its been six years and I still have those problems I also suffer bad headaches four or five days a week . depression panic attacks. Back pain . Don't know if its all related though. Doc hasn't even mentioned that I had VM.

Hi :)

You are not alone.

It is 3 years for me also.

Apart from numbness in my upper right thigh, I almost fully recovered and went back to work about 3 months later.

Things slowly started to go wrong.

Same as you - Memory issues and anxiety.

It has had an impact on my speech, bad fatigue, I can not handle large amounts of people around me, walking slowed down, my right arm kind of has mini fits where it is bops up and down, lots of other small annoying issues, which sadly, has now laid me off work.

Heartbreaking for me as I love work.

I'm a fighter and still try and push to do the most I can each day.

Off to see a specialist again later this month in hope that they have found something from regular scans.

Please hold comfort that you are not alone.

So many of us have experienced long after symptoms that just seem to gob smack the specialists who just seem to say that we are in recovery and will come right eventually.

Regards

Russ
