TB Meningitis with Mild Dystonia and Mild Hemiparesis...Please Share your experiences...

Greetings for the day,

I keep updating here about my 22 years old fiancee, She contracted TBM in July 2013. In last 9 months she has recovered a lot...Her health is good...If you see her sitting you can't say she's ill...she eats good...Obeys commands...But speak very less....But she has mild dystonia, because of that she has mild stiffness in leg and arm...She sits and sleep with a good posture but then she make a tight posture..when asked again, she corrects her posture but after some time she gets back to a bad posture...She has a mild hemiparesis of right side as well...Because of which she has balancing issues...She drags her right leg when she tries to walk with support...When asked she puts it correctly for a while...Then start to drag again...It seems painful as she cries while walking...

Will these symptoms go with time and she'll be fine again....Please share your experiences....!!!

Hi. That is very good news to hear that over the past 9 months your Fiancee has experienced some good recovery. It is still early days and more recovery could happen for her but how much - none of us can say. Continue to be there for her and show patience and love as you have been as I am sure that will be the best 'medicine' to help her have the determination to fight for further recovery. Best wishes and keep on blogging as your messages certainly seem not to convey quite such a high level of anxiety and distress as at first. It sure does help to talk to those who share similar experiences of either being an unfortunate sufferer or someone close who is caring for them. Very best wishes to you and your fiancee.
