Hi, I am Nidhi from India. I diagnosed with Atypical Meningioma Grade 2 in 2020. The tumor was 6 cm in size, located in parito-occipital lobe. It was invaded in brain. The surgery was quite complicated.Fortunately due to experienced doctors my surgery was successful. Further i went for Radio surgery. It took one year for me to recover from the entire treatment.

At present I am perfectly fine. Joined to my work again in 2021. I also completed my PhD during this period.

Just be positive, trust your doctors and have faith in God.

Hi I was diagnosed with a large Meningioma Tumour which needed emergency surgery in September 2022. Surgery was complex due to swelling and took 15 hours. Thanks to skilful neurosurgeon I have made a full recovery but still being monitored. I am going for my 6 month MRI scan today and must admit am experiencing some scanxiety today but I remain positive.

The surgery has left very little scarring (incision mostly in hairline) but I do have numbness to my scalp and on side of my face.

The Tumour was grade 1 so there is only a small chance that it could recur and other than monitoring for the next ten years, I am hopeful that I will not need radiotherapy or further surgery.

I understand the anxiety you may be feeling but depending on the size of your tumour you may just be on a “watch and wait” approach as these tumours can grow very slowly. If you do need surgery the skills and care of your neurosurgeons should not be underestimated - I am endlessly indebted to my surgeon’s expertise and care.

My best wishes to you - you are not alone and are in my thoughts ❤️

I was diagnosed in June last year with multiple meningioma tumours, had surgery to remove 1 tumour 1 month after diagnosed, i was in theatre a long time about 8/9 hours but it went smoothly and my recovery was straightforward, i wasent in any pain the only thing I would say was the fatigue was something else, good luck on your journey I hope it goes well 😊
