A Meningioma Journey

I had surgery for a large Meningioma in October 2020. 95% of the tumour was removed. The remaining 5% was close to the optic nerve and carotid artery so couldn’t be removed. I had radiation treatments after several months. Latest MRI shows stable tumour residue and the surgeon says that the radiation worked as expected. Next MRI in February to check for any growth. I am functioning well except for vision is low in the right eye.

Hi . Thanks for the update . I'm on watch and wait at the moment. Based in the UK. Do you mind if I ask how big the meningioma was . I have several one is 2cm the rest are small at a few mm . My next MRI is at the end of this month . I'm trying not to think too much about it at the moment or I go I to a spiral of worry .

Thanks for responding to my post. Original tumour was large at about 7.5 cm. The headaches and decline in right eye were the symptoms. I really understand the worry as I feel the same way. Hope your next MRI results are good. Feel free to reply to this post anytime.

Wow, that's big. I thought mine was huge at 4.8cm. Due to have surgery soon. Hopefully before Christmas. Really concerned about it.
