Funding Received for SEN College

Has anyone received funding for their young adult to attend further education & how and what the funding covered? My daughter had to go to a college outside the area as non of the local colleges could support her, so funding was eventually given for a residential place due to the travelling. However due to her needs the transition was always going to be a long one which I was clear about from the start. She is still being driven by myself although I am under constant pressure to go residential. Out of the blue I received a call from funding in the council to say my daughter had to contribute towards her care. I wasn’t told about this prior to her starting. Does anyone have any idea who I could contact for help?

Social worker can guide you. I think they can also give you further contacts. But otherwise education department in Borough/government local help

Or the residential manager might be able to help in all matters to do with your child/adult child
