Steve is your son receiving PIP IF YES he will be able to claim U/C there are number of helpful websites. Which will give answers to question of his eligibility to claim. Benefits and works.co.uk Turnto us.co.uk Mencap has helpline and great handbook Disability Rights Handbook cost to Carers about £20 recommend to all carers to for every benefit for expert advice and Steve don’t forget about Council tax relief

Also worth ringing your local council’s welfare rights/benefits rights service- usually very knowledgeable and helpful

hi. Yes and he is probably eligible for LCWRA. Which is Limited capacity for work and work related activity. Thus is part of UC so can be claimed at the same time. And possibly a personal independence payment (PIP) this is separate to UC at present. I used the turn2us website to make sure we were filling in the forms correctly to get the right amount of points to qualify. Very helpful. It takes a while. There’s a lot of form filling and then we had medical interviews over the phone but it’s well worth the effort. Good luck

Hi we filled a form in online for our son a gentleman rang us up from there to clarify a couple of things. It was quite easy & no hassle for us….for once. Good luck.

A question on this subject please My son aged 40 has PIP enhanced rate and EESA , Is UC instead of one of these benefits or aswell as , He lives at home with me . I have Court of protection for finance , on his last report the question was have I checked he is receiving the right amount of benefits which I replied no as I thought he was on the right ones ? I recieved an email to say I should be making sure ? Ive been careing for him all of his life and it made me feel I was letting him down .

I have used turn to you but it doesnt make it clear if UC was for him ?

Any help would be appreciated , kind regards , T
