Hi honestly there’s nothing to fear about a DOLS does this help information help. My son lacks mental capacity so he has to live in a locked service to keep his safe he may need something on the belt of his wheelchair to stop him getting out when it’s not safe or on the car seat whatever it might be it’s about if someone has to be restricted in somewhat it has to always be the least restrictive but to keep that person safe. I do hope this helps.
Has the social worker said what the DOLS is for? For example, is your daughter able to open the door of her home and leave or is it kept locked? Is she restricted in any other ways? Each require a DOLS. A DoLs is to protect your daughter from having her liberty taken away unnecessarily.
