I am a healthcare professional myself and off late a bit challenged by 11 year old Son's behaviour.

He is been showing exaggerated anger and emotions for simple things. He is always been a bit hyperactive and has some attention deficit all along. But he is academically very good. He started loosing interest that he used to enjoy particular in sports and now being very much hooked onto Youtube short clips like a bit of addiction. Tried to control with timer on internet access precipitate his anger and throws tantrums and starts shouting and swearing!.

We as a family has been at the receiving end for the last 6 - 8 months!

We started seeing a counselling recently.

The question how as a parent to control ourselves when he start shouting and swearing.

This sounds like he may be High level on the Autistic Spectrum, Sensory Overload & Burnouts. Ask Gp for referal for an Assessment. Look up Stimming, things to help calm. They can Mask for years & suddenly it all comes out in Overload. Worth getting him checked out.

hi speak to social services tell them it’s carer breakdown this will make them act quicker and you will hopefully get the help and support you need and information as well. Also contact the carers association they are a wealth of knowledge and there is a positive behaviour team linked to the mental health services that would also be able to support you.
