I will like to make enquiries about where I can get support, benefits, assistance for my two (2) disabled special need daughters. In addition to them I also have 3kids. We are on skilled worker visa and we have no recourse to public fund. Due to the cost of living increase daily it really affecting me emotionally and psychologically. I can’t really work required hours (as iam the principal on the visa),because jugging with them and work is really challenging and draining I must confess..We all depend on what there father(husband ) get paid on, which isnot enough.please, any advice ,support or information to assess will be highly helpful. Thank you all.

hi I don’t know about what you can’t get access to but these are my suggestions and go from there. You need to speak to children’s services in your area at your local county council. I would contact the carers association in your area and your local council as they may also be able to give you advice. Also look for your local voluntary services as they can connect you to lots of helpful information groups extra that can support in other ways. See how you get on with these to start with and we can go from there are specific worries or concerns or needs then ask a specific question and we maybe able to help you. Contact a family are a great resource for information and held with purchasing things through charities and groups and the Joseph rowntree trust are also good for help as well. I do hope this is helpful to you.
Hello Testy_ , welcome to the online community. I'm sure others here will be able to share their experience and offer some suggestions, but I'd also recommend giving Mencap's Learning Disability Helpline a call if your daughters have a learning disability diagnosis.
Our trained advisers will be able to offer advice on what support your daughters might be entitled to, and possibly other support for you and your family in your local area.
You can contact the helpline free on 0808 808 1111 or by email on helpline@mencap.org.uk if you prefer.
Could i suggest you check out the citizens advice cost of living hub in your area. You mat not be eligible for some of the things they offer, but they could point you to otger help. Also the local library, gp surgery or your childrens school might have posters for local neighbourhood support groups. Finally local churches often have clubs or groups for mums or kids to attend. Such as mother and toddler sessions. Look online churches near me. Their websites might entice you to a coffee morning, you just might meet another mum who can offer some emotional support or local hubs you could access.
