London special secondary schools (learning disability)

Hello,

Can anyone recommend any secondary special schools in London suitable for children with a mild learning disability and behaviour that challenges?

I've read about Cambridge School in Hammersmith and Fulham and Samuel Rhodes School in Islington. Swiss Cottage School is not suitable.

Any experiences of these schools or suggestions of others would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi BloomsburyLady , thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community! Hopefully a member of the community will be able to offer some advice from their own experiences. You can also get in touch with our Learning Disability Helpline on 0808 808 1111 or on helpline@mencap.org.uk to get support from our trained advisers. They may be able to offer some advice on schools in your area or signpost to more information.

Hi, I'm not sure if you are looking for Primary or Secondary ? These are all Secondary suggestions. In East Finchley there is Oak Lodge, which focuses on autistic spectrum. I looked at it years ago, it seemed small and caring, but was not right for my person. There's Treehouse School in Muswell Hill, also focusing on autistic spectrum. I don't have personal experience of that. There's also the Vale School in Tottenham which is for general learning difficulties and physical differences. It used to offer excellent all-round provision .
