Hi my daughter with mld is slightly overweight but now obsessed with food. It’s got worse since trying to suggest less sugar in her diet, it’s gone the other way. She thinks about when she can have cake/ biscuits/ hot chocolate all the time and asks me all the time. Any ideas to more subtly help her. She gets so cross

I understand that craving for sugar I’m sure I addicted to sugar myself it’s so difficult, speak to your g p or a consultant if she’s under one or ask for a dietitian to help and support you as they should be really knowledgeable in this area. You could join. Slimming club but I think it’s better not to make to much of it and learn from those that know and understand who can support you best.

I would definitely make an appointment for face to face appt with GP. They can refer possibly to a dietitian and offer other advice. A lot of us are struggling with diet, mental health issues etc with how the world has been this last few years. Does she exercise at all and is she busy enough to take her mind off food ? As you well know boredom is a huge problem, any new activities she might be interested in your area. I know it’s not easy by any means.
