I have similar issues with 20 Yr old girl mld/asd. Several 'friends' asking for photos etc and seems coersive to me. Police said no crime as adult. SW said up to police if crime committed so round in circles. Don't know what to do next. Have removed phone but now she can't contact any of her proper friends. Any help on here?

hi Buffy106 , it sounds like they may be doing something called social engineering as well as grooming her,ive had it done to me in the past which changed my life unfortunately.

theres a few things i can recomend to you, as ive iether had them used on me or ive been working on something similar for over a year now,but its silent for now as ive got no one to help me with moderating. i built a social network for both other people with all levels of learning disability and for the parents/carers of people on there so they can keep watch on their child. im sick of specialist social network services like this being non existent or they cost money to join/use or theyre only for people from certin parts of the UK.

one idea ive got (sorry in advance ill probably waffle on),it might be something not your thing but what about having your own private social netwwork so family/friends/your daughter and only her genuine friends get acess to it? if it was mine id have new acounts on moderation cue as well so you coud make sure the person joining is genuine enough.

she woud soon forget the dodgy people who are grooming her.

-you can pay monthly or yearly for a shared server (i pay i think something like £36 a year at shockhosting and £10 a year for my domain name-the domain name is free for the first year, i get forever webspace, bandwith and databases, and its got a self install script on it so it installs the software for you and you dont have to have any idea of website coding),theres a good social network software called OSSN which looks exactly like facebook so if your daughter or any of her friends have issues with changing websites like me-its a lot easier to do it with OSSN.

-if that is something you want to do but dont like the idea of doing it,i woudnt mind setting a social network up for you.

another idea, using an app that can block acess to varius websites, i think you can actualy block websites thru the router control panel,so for example you coud block all the facebook adressses (for example) and let her see her genuine frends thru a better service. you can also block apps like instagram from loading.

there are apps that block based on words used,so if someone says 'photo' it coud be writen into the app that photo will trigger it to not allow the website to load.you can enter so many different words .

ive only just got my first phone in november last year-a motorola edge 20 pro-for the camera and im not to used to android yet but if shes on this platform-i can have a look for apps if youd like? i can also look at windows-and iOS for you as my AAC device (proloquo2go) is my ipad.

in my last residential home they used a non free firefox addon to stop me acessing torrent sites and words that woud trigger my behaviors, some people might be able to change browsers with no issue which woud make this addon rubbish but i cant change as i am used to it.

sorry ive posted a lot,ill quit now.

friday edit-sorry Pingu201 just realised i had got confused and wrote the post to buffy,i am sorry.
