But did you know that athletes with a learning disability can only take part in athletics, swimming and table tennis at the Paralympics?

It is not good enough that people with a learning disability can’t compete in so many of the Paralympic sports. And that is why we have launched our very own Inclusion Games.

Grab your family and friends and take part. Have a go at a bit of boccia, wheelchair basketball, goalball, sitting volleyball, or badminton. See if you can bag yourself a medal!

wasnt the reason we werent allowed to play for a long time due to a country faking learning disability?

i used to be a special olympics athlete for wigan and cheshire,playing badminton and boccia and swimming, id had my spinal nerves crushed by over restraining so ended up having to leave sports as my injury got to progresive.

id love to see adaptable skiing and snowboarding LD classes in the winter paras or specials-there must be lots of talent from the special olympics clubs like ski rossendale and also the adapted sessions everywhere such as in the chillfactor in manchester.

i shall have a look at the inclusion pdf thanks mencap.
