I would love information and support around healthy eating for a Woman my colleague and I are looking after. She is an unhealthy weight and want to ensure we are doing the right thing to help her become more healthy whilst being careful about her right to eat what she likes. All advice greatly appreciated. I heard OT's can help is this true. We have arrange an appointment with her GP Practice too - many thanks

It’s great you’ve organised an appt with her GP, as this should be your first port of call as he is aware of any medical issues she may have. He will give you some advise what road to go down after his assessment of her and may advise referring her to a dietitian and / or exercise regime that is suitable for her. It’s fine gathering any advice that people recommend but it should always be passed by the GP before implementing it as anyone giving advice doesn’t really know the lady in question. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hello

Have you seen this on the NHS website - nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we... ?

Some of the links on there look helpful 👍

Her GP should also be able to offer support so it is great that you have this in hand.

Another thought is to include her in preparing her own meals. United Response have some brilliant accessible recipe videos here - youtube.com/playlist?list=P... I have to say, some look healthier than others. Here is one about making cottage pie:
